Soy wax candle using instructions
The first burning of a candle is the most important
Let the soy candle burn until the surface of the candle melts evenly all the way to the edges. This prevents "tunnelling", i.e. the central part of the candle deepening and the wax sticking to the edges.
Remember to burn the candle for no more than 4 hours - beyond this time, the oils in the candle will evaporate too much.
Cutting the wick
Cut the wick: Before the first firing, cut the wick to a length of about 0.5-1 cm. This will help the candle burn evenly and reduce smoke formation.
The candles have a good quality wood or cotton wick, so they burn cleanly and the wick does not crumble. Trim the cotton wick from the second burn to a length of about 3-5 mm. The wooden wick can be broken with your fingers. This prevents the candle from smoking and gives a nice, harmonious flame.
Storing the candle
The candle should be stored at room temperature, away from sunlight. This prevents the wax from discolouring and deforming.
1 cm of wax left? Time to buy a new lovely MurMur candle 😊
